How to Apply
To submit a mortgage application you will need to be registered with us.

We offer Self Build and Custom Build mortgages exclusively via BuildStore Mortgage Services. To apply for a Self Build or Custom Build mortgage please contact them on 0345 223 4888 or alternatively, visit their website www.buildloan.co.uk for more details.
1. Lending Policy
Please refer to our Criteria section. Is your client likely to be accepted?

2. Login
To begin an application you will need to login using your unique username and password. These will have been set by you following completion of the registration process.

3. Start Application
Once logged in, please select 'New Cases' and confirm this application meets our minimum criteria.

4. Affordability Calculator
Complete the loan details as requested by the on-screen prompts. Can your client afford the mortgage amount required?

Please note: you can still complete an affordability calculation when you are not logged in, however the information you key in will not be saved.

5. Decision In Principle (DIP)
If your client(s) can borrow the requested amount, please follow the final steps to receive an online DIP. This will generate a reference number unique to your client(s), please quote this number if calling with any queries relating to this DIP. Once you have received a decision you then have the option to clone the DIP (maximum 5 DIPs) where you can change some details, e.g. increase loan amount, or amend term, if you require multiple decisions during your advised interview.
If you wish to clone a previous DIP, you will need to revisit some of the pages and confirm information; however you will not have to re-key everything again. Once affordability and a decision have been accepted you can then proceed to full application submission with the DIP that is correct to meet your client(s) needs.

6. Full Application Submission
From the 'My Cases' screen you can select a DIP that has been accepted and proceed to application. You cannot apply for any cases that have been declined or referred and may only do so if the initial decision of decline/refer is superseded with an accept decision, following review by one of our Underwriters.
You can do this by choosing the 'Apply' option alongside the DIP you wish to proceed with.

Please note: Please check you are proceeding with the correct DIP before moving onto full application submission.
You will be asked to confirm additional details in order to enable us to complete the application process.
At this stage, you will still have the option to clone a DIP, however, full application details will have to be re-entered.
You can only submit one application per client.
Product funds will be booked upon submission of the fully completed online application. Once submitted, a confirmation page will be displayed.

7. Payment of Fees
Your client(s) can pay fees in one of the following two ways once your application has been vetted and a confirmation email has been sent by our Underwriter:
A) Customer card payment over the phone
Your client(s) can call our dedicated team on 0345 734 4345 to make a one off card payment.
Please note, the card holder must be present in order for this to be processed.
B) Send us a cheque
You can send us a cheque from any UK Bank or Building Society account in your client(s) name(s). This must be made payable to: Newcastle Building Society, Re: the applicants name(s) and their online reference number.
Please send this cheque to: Mortgage Operations, 1 Cobalt Park Way, Wallsend, NE28 9EJ.
In addition, please remember to draw a line through any unused space on the cheque.

8. Declaration, Direct Debit Mandate & Minimum Packaging Requirements
Print the Declaration and Direct Debit Mandate and ask your client(s) to complete the required fields. We require both you and your client(s) to read, date and sign the declaration.
Alternatively, we can accept a signed declaration from our Data Capture form if this has already been obtained (Residential Only).

Obtain all supporting information that is applicable to your client(s) via our 'What to Send' form in our useful documents section of our website. Please scan & return the completed Declaration, Direct Debit Mandate and all supporting information electronically via our Document Upload service.

We will not start processing your case until your declaration is received and any fees to be paid upfront have been received.

9. Updates
We will acknowledge receipt of your application and provide case tracking updates at regular intervals via email. The progress of your case can also be tracked via the 'My Cases' screen. If you wish to discuss an application at any stage, please call our Intermediary Support Team on 0345 602 2338.
